General introduction to Primary and secondary metabolism (definitions) – Biosynthetic pathways in vascular plants. Planning a phytochemical study through bioguided assays
Classification and biosynthesis of phenolic compounds, terpenoids and alkaloids: examples of metabolites used in the pharmaceutical, cosmetic and food fields.
Quality control of herbal drugs (= botanicals).
The study of a vegetal complex matrix: sample preparation (solvent extraction and solvent free techniques), analysis and data elaboration.
Analytical strategies applied to the characterization of vegetal complex matrices used in the pharmaceutical, cosmetic and food fields.
