Careers opportunities
The PhD course in Pharmaceutical and Biomolecular Sciences provides advanced knowledge and skills for the professional future of PhD graduates, in order to operate successfully in the pharmaceutical, chemical, biochemical, food, plant-based products and health fields in a broad sense.
The methodological and cultural skills acquired allow PhD graduates to be included in multiple work environments, not only at university level, but also in public and private companies, with various roles in qualified professional activities. During the PhD course, much attention is paid to the development of innovative and transversal skills useful for joining the present and future needs of the labor market.
View the multidisciplinary characterization of this doctorate, the PhDs who have carried out a project in the field of diagnostics, theragnostics and interactions between biomaterials and biological means, will have a professional specialization of interest for the biomedical industrial sector in the broad sense (for example from in vitro diagnostic agents, to contrast agents for diagnostic imaging and/or guided surgery, to the production and surface modification of biomaterials for medical use) which in Italy has reached a very significant size.
In conclusion, PhDs, having acquired multidisciplinary training and transversal skills, find multiple employment opportunities at industrial level, which can also be used in employment situations other than those specifically dedicated to scientific research. To promote knowledge of our PhD students by local companies, both the Doctoral School and the Doctoral course itself have established a specific annual event and various seminars with professionals in the sector.
